Their Media Reference page includes relevant articles on demographics, on-line campaigning and fundraising issues.  Check out the Feature Section and special reports cover issues from around the world.   You can sign up for their ezine newsletters featuring links to web articles, worldwide Internet events and web sites of note.

Washington Post –  The site has excellent coverage of the 2002 Election. Well-organized and easy to maneuver.Of particular note is their “Election Explorer 2002”  – a guide to the House, Senate and Gubernatorial races this November.   With a map of the US, you can click onto the state contests and the key race to watch.

The Webby Awards –  the 6th annual “Best of the Web” awards are out.  Selected by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Science, the sites exemplify the very best in technology, creativity and individual achievement.   You can cast your vote for the best in each category.   This year’s five nominees for the Politics award include: California Voter Foundation ; Center for Responsive Politics ; The Hill ; Political Money Line ; Washington Post.com/On Politics   All five sites are excellent choices.

Spinsanity – Describes themselves as   “the watchdog(s) of manipulative political rhetoric.”  They identify and dissect the hot topics of the day, from the hijacking threat, to “trifecta”, Enron, Pickering, the balanced budget, Daschle and much more. The site is edited by Ben Fritz, a journalist, Bryan Keefer, a research assistant and Brendan Nyhan, a writer and marketing consultant.   Both sides of the aisle have praised Spinsanity and their data is featured on Salon.com.

Capitol Grilling   - A site that encourages you to pass on your gossip.  You get kudos for good tips and you can share your information anonymously.  This   “political parlor game” is monitored and scrutinized by its founders, who, themselves, also remain anonymous.   They describe themselves insiders - political campaign operatives, lobbyists and federal employees.

STATES POLITICAL SITES WRITTEN ANONYMOUSLY

Five political state-oriented sites have hit the “web” waves in the last 2 years with excellent content, much gossip, rumor and a great deal of flair. The Publius Group, whose address is listed but whose editors assume a pseudonym of a state historical figure, operates each.   The Sites have been criticized for their anonymity but seem to be read enthusiastically and praised by political figures within the states.

STATE PRIMARY TO WATCH

INDEPENDENT EXPENDITURES COMMITTEE SITES
(They are proliferating. Check out:)

Dump Daschle.org   Paid for by Fight Back South Dakota and not authorized by any candidate or candidate committee. The Independent Expenditure committee has a very targeted goal - to defeat Daschle because he has obstructed the Bush agenda. Daschle is up for re-election in 2004.

Daschle Democrats.org Organized in response to the “organized.smear.campaign” to “personally malign” the Senate Majority Leader.   Their agenda is “to set the record straight.

Americans for Jeb Bush –   An independent campaign, “not approved by any candidate”.  The Florida Governor has disassociated himself from the site, especially because the home page looks like a Bush campaign site. The Web Site’s focus is to “stop Janet Reno from becoming Florida’s next Governor.”
