Project Vote Smart http:/www.vote-smart.org - extensive links. Non-profit site maintained by 400 volunteers. Main focus is tracking the performance of elected officials, but the links are extensive and include summary information. You can order their printed Directory - "Vote Smart Web Yellow Pages" which is FREE and includes over 1,000 political and governmental sites.
Jefferson Project http://www.voxpop.org/jefferson- organized by "left, right, personalities" and parties. Little commentary but the Web links are very comprehensive.
Whats New Too http://newtoo.manifest.com/ - lists the new Sites every day. Click on to "Government and Politics" and search the new Web Sites from around the world starting with whatever date you wish.
Illinois Democrats http://www.il-democrats.org- (thanks Tim Sheehan for the suggestion) . List of candidate sites, easy to access and they will develop Web pages for democratic candidates running in Illinois. Something for other states to consider.
National Republican Congressional Committee http://www.nrcc.org - Click on Campaign Office to find a list of Republican Congressional campaigns, with addresses and phone numbers. Very easy to use but no e-mail links.
Minnesota E-Democracy http://www.e-democracy.org
- Could be model for statewide political information. Non-partisan.
Interactive, with questions and answers from the gubernatorial candidates.

The first stop for the rules and regs for filing, etc. Electronic filing informaiton
on bottom of page click on "tools to help with electronic filing". Check their
press releases, i.e. Youll find a complete summary of the 1998 US Congressional
Primary dates by states (http://www.fec.gov/pubrec/alpha.htm).
Many other interesting features.
FecInfo http://www.tray.com/fecinfo - (written by Tony Raymond of the Center for Responsive Politics) is your source for campaign finance information. It is the ultimate "who gave what to which Federal candidate when." It covers the 1997-98, 1995-96, 1993-94 election cycles and you can search by individual, state, PAC and occupation. (It is easy to navigate).

- (another site from the Center for Responsive Politics), is a fascinating guide
to Money & Politics in the 104th Congress. 42 issues and 28 roll call votes
are analyzed. You can search a members vote and check out the contributions of the
corresponding lobbying groups.
