Political Junkie - http://www.PoliticalJunkie.com/   Another extensive list of political links. No frills. Just the Sites. Of particular interest is the large number of syndicated journalists included on the list, and the Iowa & New Hampshire Primary Sites.

Web White & Blue - http://www.webwhiteblue.org   Bookmark the site for future election coverage. They came on the scene late in the 1998 cycle but they should be a force in future elections. The Site is sponsored by the Markle Foundation and Harvard’s Shorenstein Center.

Issues.gif (1311 bytes)

Soft Money Laundromat - http://www.commoncause.org/laundromat   Searchable database of special interest soft money contributions to the Democratic and Republican national party committees. Who gives it and who gets it. You can search by donor name, by location and by industry. The Site also includes analysis and background, historical information and the list of the largest soft money donors. It is sponsored by Common Cause.

Reporter’s Reference Center on Campaign Finance Reform - http://www.benton.org/neustadt/reporters   Sponsored by the Benton Foundation’s Richard Neustadt Center for Communication, the Site provides non-partisan information and background geared to journalists covering the campaign finance reform issue. Detailed analysis, data on contribution limits and independent expenditures, federal and state legislation and contacts with state organizations.

Talkspot - www.talkspot.com Interactive in real time. 900 hours of live programming with News and Politics as one of their 3 main topics. The shows include graphics, charts, surveys and live cameras. The audience types in questions or calls toll-free to talk with the host in real time.

E-the People - http://www.e-thepeople.com   An interactive grassroots project, an initiative of Alex Sheshunoff. E-the People claim to have 140,000 officials in their database, each with an email address. You can connect to a particular level of Government or you can connect with others trying to have their issue heard. The service is free and non-partisan. You can write a petition, you can add your name to a petition being sent or you can comment on a petition already sent.

Billion Byte March - http://www.march.org   The March is another example of grassroots advocacy groups using the internet. The email march on Washington is to save and remodel social security. Sponsored by two non-partisan advocacy groups, Third Millenium and Economic Security 2000 Agenda, the focus is to engage Generation X in political action. The organizers will store and send email messages to the president and congress at the time of the March.

The Y2k Issue - http://www.itpolicy.gsa.gov/mks/yr2000/y2khome.htm   The place to begin is the US Federal Government Gateway for the Year 2000 Information Directories. There are thousands of web sites dealing with all aspects of the Y2k issue. For politically-oriented information, there are several clearinghouses that should be explored:

The US Government Directory on the Year 2000 - http://www.itpolicy.gsa.gov/mks/yr2000/cioy2k.htm   Dozens of sites are listed allowing you to examine news reports and articles, Industry Resources, and Government Resources. You can look at the US Federal Government, the various agencies and efforts by the White House to address the Y2k issue.

The State Sites - http://www.itpolicy.gso.gov/mks/yr2000/state.htm   The various sites here deal with the status of state governments’ effort to deal with Y2k. Check out the Y2k effort of your state.

Party.gif (1202 bytes)

Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) http://www.dlcppi.org/   Founded by Al From, and chaired by Senator Joe Lieberman, (D-CT), the DLC is the idea center for the reform movement within the Democratic Party. Founded in 1985, the DLC publishes a bimonthly magazine, the New Democrat, available by email. The Site is filled with ideas, tools and opportunities for interaction. President Clinton was a past Chair.

Republican National Committee (RNC) http://www.rnc.org   Check out their large audio visual library. They now have the "Rising Tide", the half hour regularly scheduled Republican talk show available at the Site. Their archive of issue articles and material is extensive. Hundreds of links to state parties, college affiliates and related Republican sites; the Site also outreaches for activist involvement.

Reform Party State Offices - Political Resources Reformed Party The Reform Party State office list joins the Democratic, Republican and Libertarian State Party Office list on line. The list is searchable by State.
