It supports federal, state and local candidates with a centrist and progressive approach. It sponsors fundraising events, forums, and internships and has a library of issues available to candidates.

Senator Conrad Burns homepage - http://burns.senate.gov   Congress is beginning to harness the power of the Internet. Senator Burns is utilizing the technology with a TV program where you can ask questions live on the air. His web site includes a Chat Room to discuss the latest Montana issues, a sound archive, and a picture gallery.

On the email front, an 8/9/99 AP release outlines the new rage on the Hill. Rep. Asa Hutchinson, R-Ark, e-mails 5,000 constituents every Monday, and House Majority Leader Dick Army, R-TX, has 10,000 names on his bulk e-mail list.

Utah Republican Party - http://www.utahgop.com   The Utah Republican Party has entered a joint venture to sell Internet access. They are working with an outside vendor where they will receive a percentage of whatever is purchased. This seems to be a first for political party fundraising and could be a model for other states. In addition to raising money, it also has the potential to forge a GOP community. The Party Site is the home page. The joint effort is located on a separate web site - http://www.utgop.com

George W. Bush Web Site - http://www.georgewbush.com   Campaign Disclosure and other Internet activities. The Bush for President campaign is the first to post contributions on the Internet on a daily basis. This will include all contributions, including those less than $200.00. Having raised close to $50 million dollars, this ought to present a monumental chore to follow.

On another Bush Internet item, the fight for domain names has a new wrinkle. In May, George W. Bush bought rights to a host of potential vice presidential candidates. Now Steve Forbes has bought 19 Internet addresses with the Forbes-Bush title. (Referring, of course, to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush). Mindy Tucker, spokeswoman for George W. responded that the Forbes campaign should check out their web site because "Jeb Bush and 22 other governors have endorsed George W. Bush for President." (taken from the list serve campaign@listbot.com 9/2/99).
