Campaign 98 Internet Study http://www.campaignstudy.org Twenty statewide Republican campaigns with strong internet presence were examined. They developed a rating system and studied how voters used the internet for political information and participation. The study was sponsored by GOPAC and Hockaday Donatelli Campaign Solutions.
Wirthlin Worldwide Post Election Analysis http://www.wirthlin.com/election98/reload.cgi?chart10.htmlWirthlin Worldwide conducted an extensive post election survey including an internet question, "During the course of the election, did you get any information about the candidates from the Internet that helped you decide for whom to vote?"
Medill School of Journalism Study http://www.medill.nwu.edu/studentwork/election98/ The 40 members of the News and News Media class profiled 22 individual TV, newspapers, radio and web-only sites. The goal was to provide an in-depth analysis of election night coverage on the web. While the overall election grade was a "B", this was a vast improvement over 1996.
Election 98 campaign website Study http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/visions/kamarck.htm Conducted by Elaine Kamarck of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the survey studied Senate and Gubernatorial candidates who had web sites and were actively campaigning in June, 1998. The sites were examined for usage and their effect on the election. There is excellent background analysis on the Site.
Untangling the Web/Internet Use in the 1998 election http://www.american.edu/academic.depts/spa/ccps/article.htm Study conducted by American University Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies. They examined 68 Senate and 65 open House seats to evaluate campaign contributions on the web and the accessibility of those sites.
Censure and Move on http://www.moveon.org Opposes the impeachment proceedings. This is a citizen activist campaign, an email campaign to have Congress censure the President and get on with the business of the country. They have collected more than 300,000 emails.
Conservative Information Network http://www.conservativepress.org/ CIN is a service of GOPAC, the Republican training and education organization. It provides news and headlines from Washington, updated daily. For the Republican candidate, there are talking points on key issues, analysis and campaign tips from publisher Rich Galen.
GOP Information Network http://robertcraig.simplenet.com/GOPInfoNet/ A new site for Republican candidates. Useful information, reference tools, "how to books", campaign tips. Also audio-visual material, including the Ken Starr impeachment testimony.
Green Peace http://www.GreenPeaceUSA.org The worldwide independent environmental organization Green Peace has completely redesigned its web site. The new site expands the scope and accessibility of information.
