William S. Bike is the vice president of ANB Communications, a public relations, writing, direct mail , and political consulting firm in Chicago, Illinois.

Previously, he worked for two years in communications and publications for the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business; for ten years in public relations and publications for Loyola University Chicago; and since 1995, in fundraising for the University of Illinois at Chicago. He and the staffs he has directed have won ore than 40 local, national, and international publication awards, and Bike himself has won two Peter Lisagor Awards, the highest honors conferred by the Chicago Headline Club, the local arm of the Society for Professional Journalists.

Bike also has worked for several newspapers and magazines, including the Near West Gazette in Chicago, which he has served as associate and political editor since 1983, and the Oak Park News and the Berwyn-Cicero News, two suburban Chicagoland publications which he, at age 24, served as editor-in-chief.

In 1979 political science of DePaul University, he served since 1979 as communications chair for the Democratic Leadership for the Twenty-First Century, a political organization dedicated to empowering and educating the next generation of progressive Democratic political activists and leaders.

His first book, Street of the Near West Side, was published by ACTA Publications, Chicago in1966.
