Production Manager

Ambitious self-starter needed to serve as Production Manager for The Lukens Company, a direct response marketing agency located in Arlington, VA. Client base includes a number of medium to large non-profit & museum mailers and some political accounts. Responsibilities include management of all aspects of direct mail production:

*Work with Account Executives and Creative Team to generate package specs.
*Utilize internal production management software to track jobs and meet mail dates.
*Coordinate with multiple mailshops, printers and data houses to produce high-quality packages.

The Production Manager is responsible for establishing internal and external production schedules for all projects, executing direct mail programs from print through mail drop. Working on several projects at a time, the Production Manager will manage outside vendors, purchase orders job instructions, control costs, proof bluelines and facilitate invoices. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years prior direct marketing production experience, be extremely well-organized, pay meticulous attention to detail and be able to multi-task. Responsibilities:

Working with the Director of the Washington Office, will develop and maintain strong working relationships with congressional offices, federal research agencies, national higher education, science, and engineering organizations, and with MIT faculty and administration. Analyze and monitor policy and legislative proposals from the executive branch and congress; actively participate in and take leadership roles in selected coalitions, associations, and working groups; implement new policy programs. Identify and prioritize issues and develop government relations strategies. Oversee daily operations of the office.

Requirements:

Minimum of five to seven years experience in a government-relations environment. Capitol Hill or professional governmental experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced or professional degree desirable. Strong interest in science and technology policy is highly desirable. Strong oral and written communications, analytical and interpersonal skills required. Must be willing and able to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team.
